Befikre...No care for Quality....( Film Review.)

Film :Befikre
Release : Dec 2016
Producer, Director, Story, Screenplay: Aditya Chopra (Yasharaj Banner)
My Ratings: **

The film starts with kissing scenes of random couples in the streets of Paris (Almost 15-20 kissing couples), delivering the message about the theme of the film (Kiss only). Filming in Paris would not be enough for making a romantic piece and there is no need of expert to tell that there should be at least some trace of a good script to make film "watchable". In Befikre, I found all emotional scenes 'emotionless', all romantic scenes 'romanceless' and all humorous scenes 'humourless'. I can't believe this film has been directed by a person who has delivered films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Mohabbatein (2000), Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008). Maybe, during earlier films he had Yash Chopra ji at his side.

Nothing goes right in the film except music. Vishal Shekhar has added very good tracks wich will move your legs for dance. Sunidhi Chauhan, Benny Dayal and Papon give their trademark voices to respective songs, but I found Arjit Singh giving voice to one of outstanding dancing track (Nashe di chadh gayi...) which you won't witness frequently.

Befikre is the story about French-born "Indian" girl Shyra and the Delhi ka loundha type guy Dharam (Ranveer Singh). Dharam is a stand-up comedian, but the jokes supplied by Screenplay writer are soooo boring that, only audience in scenes could laugh at that (because they must be junior artists and has to get payment after a shoot). Ranveer himself is a funny person and he could have pulled out much better punches on his own. Hero-heroine meet in rave party and unsurprisingly gets laid (We know from a trailer), Shyra is interested in a one-night stand, as she doesn't believe in love. Besides, they meet multiple times, fall in sex-love for some time and then break up. Again Dharam insists her to be in touch and try to be friends. They  become friends, decides to marry with different guy and girl. In a marriage ceremony, couple realises their love for each other and run away from ceremony like every other Bollywood film.

Ranveer Singh adds energy to any worst film, and he delivers good performance. I didn't see Vani Kapoor before, and as an audience first impression is not so good. She has shown phenomenal dancing skills but little trace of acting. Before watching the film, one of my friends described Vani Kapoor as she looks like "Jig Saw Doll" in Horror movie series "Saw". And I could picture her like that while watching the film.

So basically, Bollywood is just wasting people's money and time for such a pathetic film making attempts. In India, regional cinema like Marathi and South Indian are more evolving and experimenting in different storylines and so should be national film industry.

If you think, my writing is worst than Aditya Chopra's Befikre... Please do let me know.... 😇 and If I am good enough writer please follow my blog and share the articles on social media...

Thanks for reading. See you around......
