The formula of last few year's Bollywood hits is "an athlete's biopic". It started with Bhag Milkha Bhag (2013), Mary Kom (2014), M.S. Dhoni (2016) to the Dangal (2016). People are appreciating it because they like to see sportsman's life/struggle, which he/she faces before achieving a success. (In short, a Bottom of an Iceberg).

And what if, Mr. Perfect takes the challenge of a biographical film. Obviously, he Nails it. Amir Khan measures the character, transform himself to fit into it. No wonder you think that this role has been written for him. We all know, how he scaled up his weight and posture and immediately gains toned muscles for few scenes for a younger version of a character. We also know that he must have taken steroids, expensive dieticians etc. But the dedication to do the same is quite appreciable. Girls, who have played roles of young Geeta and Babita with quite a conviction. Fatima Sana Shaikh has encashed this opportunity (Role of Geeta Phogat) after back to back small-scale and flop films. Do you remember a little and cute girl (Bharti) from Kamal Hasan starrer film Chachi 420? Yes, that character was played by Fatima Sana Shaikh. Sakshi Tanwar and Girish Kulkarni proves their choice for characters was perfect.

Dangal's story is about Mahavir Singh Phogat, who was a former champion wrestler. He was forced to give up his dream of winning a gold for India, due to the lack of financial support. He pledges to complete his dream of winning a gold medal for India through his son. Unfortunately, his wife couldn't bear the boy child, leading the birth of 04 daughters. During one of incident, he witnesses his two daughters beating a boy in town and he identifies wrestling treasure in Geeta and Babita. And at this turning point Mahavir Singh decides to make his daughters better wrestlers. During 90's, in rural parts of Haryana, athletics for  a woman was like a deadly sin. People redicule Mahavir Singh for coaching his duaghters for being wrestler. And against all odds, he fulfills his dream of winning a gold medal for India, by transforming his daughters into world-class wrestlers.

Family Portrait of  "Real" Mahavir Singh Phogat
The story has been narrated through Mahavir Singh's nephew's point of view and the witty dialogues make you laugh and at the same time an emotional struggle between Geeta and her father makes you concerned. Story covers both parts i.e. personal struggle as well as game tactics briefly and doesn't keep any loose ends.

Dangal is only a third film of Nitesh Tiwari's directorial career and film Chillar Party (2011) was the only Success he could deliver in past. Now, Dangal would add up to his portfolio at top place and he would go long way by directing the films with this dedication.

Musical scores are given by Pritam. Dangal song is iconic and inspiring, which is sung by Daler Mehendi and on the other hand song Hanikarak Bapu has been portrayed in funny way. It was too much funny when some of people were protesting over word "Hanikarak" used before "Bapu", by which we call Mahatma Gandhi.

Honestly speaking, I wad one of those people who had cursed Amir Khan for the comments about 'leaving the country because of rising intolerance'. But now you can see people (including me) are approaching the movie with a positive attitude, praising him for the awesome performance. That is what our country is. We cherish the good things happening so also we condemn a bad mouthing about the country. So, we are not intolerant and bad people Amir, we are just little emotional. And we don't want the great artist like you to leave the country.

Guys... Go for Dangal... It is not at all Hanikarak....!!
