A 'courtroom' is very familiar to Indian viewers. This is the place where always a drama lies. Few film-makers choose it a humorous way and few ones present it in angry, tense and hardcore storylines. Joly LLB 2 tries to mix both fanda and makes it more enjoyable. But does it succeed in maintaining a balance between laughable and serious parts in right place? Mostly yes.. But at few moments, Story Writer seems to be confused about switching on comedy mode and serious mode. At some point, comedy goes above the line and you will feel bad about a good film being a going-out-of exaggeration.

The direction of this film by Subhash Kapoor is fantastic. I appreciate that he has chosen to show courtroom as a realistic one. Otherwise, Bollywood films always present the posh (film-studio) courtrooms, where everything is neat and clean. Story continuation slips at some points but covered well in most part. At an intense moment of a story, there is an unavoidable religious critique, But the director has successfully and bravely covered the part without hurting religious feelings.

Akshay Kumar is such an actor, who doesn't bash from taking a variety of roles. If you observe his recent film line "Rustom-2016", "Airlift-2015, Baby-2015, Special 26-2013 etc. Every essence of characterisation was different from each other and so I won't shy away to call him a versatile actor. Coming back to Jolly LLB 2, he has played typical "vakil" who doesn't get much of cases and works as a 15th assistant to very senior Lawyer "Rizvi sahab". Akshay has well versed his body language to fit as a Kanpuriya man. At few moments, his acting seems flat (just with the flow). It may be due to ups and downs in a quality of story writing.

What to say about duo Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor? Both are known for their witty as well as hard core seriousness about their acting. Saurabh Shukla being a "lousy and cool" judge, is superb and he literally has stolen the show at few moments. Annu Kapoor as a ruthless and expensive lawyer in a negative shade has done a great job. In 99% Bollywood films, job of heroine is very brief and predictable. (just stand beside, bring glamour and smile along with hero). This film has done same with Huma Kureshi's role as a wife of Jolly.

Film rightly points the flaws in Justice system of India, this is one of a part where lies huge scope for development. I feel sad, whenever I face a line of "vakils" at an entrance of a court, who pitch for "affidavit karvaana hai? notery karvaana hai? Register Shadi karvaana hai?". Sadly, this is a disgrace to the profession, but it is bitter reality.

Overall... The film is enjoyable and keeps your attention intact till the end. It will make you laugh as well as present nail-biting moments.

Funny point out:- Bajaj Scooter is an unofficial partner of Bollywood,  Directors gift it to  a central character to indicate the story time-line. i.e 1980s and also give it an essence of a common man.
